Canada’s Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Canada is offering growth-oriented Canadian companies a new way to connect with potential customers, investors and other partners throughout the United States – all without leaving the office. And it’s free.
The new online program, InnovationScan, enables innovative companies to deliver targeted presentations to potential business partners and then connect with those who are interested. The Canadian Trade Commissioner Service is promoting the website in multiple markets across the United States.
In particular, InnovationScan is showcasing companies, from startups to mid-sized, in key growth sectors, namely: information and communications technology, biotechnology and life sciences, renewable energy and cleantech, security and defence, and other emerging technologies.
These types of firms can apply to provide a variety of material on their role and technology for posting on the website, including an elevator pitch (pithy description), a fact-sheet (PDF), a PowerPoint presentation, and a five-minute video. The site goes live to U.S. contacts in June.
