Q. I would like some information regarding the bilateral investment agreement between Canada and Burkina Faso. Has it been ratified and what risks will it cover?

A. According to the Web site of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Canada, the agreement was signed in April.

The agreement was created to protect investors “through the establishment of a framework of legally binding rights and obligations”.
